A Duke of Her Own is the 6th book in Eloisa James' Desperate Duchesses series. Lady Eleanor finds herself as one of A Duke of Her Own book two women the Duke of Villiers is considering for his bride.

The Duke has six illegitimate children who he plans to openly accept into society and he needs an appropriate Duchess who would be able to easy their way. Eleanor /5. Lorraine Heaths A Duke of Her Own, the first of the Rogues and Roses books, focuses on Lady Louisa Wentworth and the Duke of Hawkhurst.

Louisa is an earls daughter, but the estate is impoverished. A Duke of Her Own book Deciding to take her life into her own hands, Louisa begins a career as a social chaperone for a pair of American heiresses seeking titled husbands /5. A Duke of Her Own is Book 6 in the Desperate Duchesses, the Original Six series.

The full series reading order is as follows: Book 1: Desperate Duchesses Book 2: An Affair Before Christmas Book 3: Duchess By Night Book 4: When the Duke Returns Book 5: This Duchess of Mine Book 6: A Duke of Her Own.

It is quite delightful, particularly Tobias, the Duke's illegitimate son, who gets his own book. Eloisa James often uses far-fetched situations in her stories, but always with an essential element of truth for the social dictates of the period/5(). It is quite delightful, particularly Tobias, the Duke's illegitimate son, who gets his own book.

Eloisa James often uses far-fetched situations in her stories, but always with an essential element of truth for the social dictates of the period. In such a skilled writer, you quickly put the unlikely scenarios to one side and concentrate of her /5(). A Duke of Her own was a pleasant surprise. The book is extremely well-paced and focused on the couple at hand.

Although Villiers feels confusion, his confusion is paced on his sense of duty and honor, not on his feelings.5/5(5).

Undoubtedly, A Duke of Her Own by Eloisa James was one of the most highly anticipated novels this year for me, as it was for many other readers.

The final volume of the Desperate Duchesses series, it was to contain the romance of the charismatic Duke of Villiers, who’d lost a fiancée to another man in Desperate Duchesses, almost died and befriended, not-quite-wooed another lady in An Affair.

"A Duke of Her Own" is truly a delightfully easy-listening audiobook. As much comedy as a romance, with subtle fun and very sympathetic heroes and heroines.

A bit like a traditional chamber play with a grand HEA end. ~ I enjoyed a lot. I LIKE - comic hilarious love-adventures in old-time castles. Book 1 in the Rogues and Roses series, A Duke of Her Own starts out fast paced and never loses momentum.

Sexy, sensual and totally romantic, Lorraine Heath delivers on all counts. She writes with passion and grace, is always entertaining and never boring.

Lorraine always delivers a fantastic story to her readers. I love her work.5/5(5). Having made her decision after much agonizing, carefully scrutinizing her options, weighing the benefits against the disadvantages, and accepting the enormous consequences that would ensue after effectively changing the direction of her life, she wasn't about to allow him--or anyone else for that matter--to deter or forbid her from seeing her Pages:.
